Mount Kelimutu Trips East Nusa Tenggara designed for visitors who wish to visit the unique three-color lakes of Mount Kelimutu. Mount Kelimutu is located near Moni town in the center of Flores Island.

Kelimutu color lake is one of the famous destination for traveler within 1690 above sea level. It consists of three lakes together of varying colours from each other and also at different times, making them surreal and exciting to be discovered.

Tiwu Ata Mbupu or Lake of Old People is usually blue. It is the westernmost of the three lakes. The Lake for Young Man or Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai and the Lake for Maidens called Tiwu Ato Polo are separated by a shared crater wall. They are typically green or red in color.

Why Mount Kelimutu ?

The tree-colored lakes of Mount Kelimutu are special for natural occurring phenomenon. Due to the ever-changing colors and the varying colors among themselves, it is beautifully haunting. The local people here consider it as a resting place for the departed souls.

They believed that Mae was a god of the afterlife and those who died will sit by the lakes base on their merits in life. Therefore, it is connected to the names of the lake, when translated meant one for the souls of the people, another for the spirits of young people and lastly for the spirits of soothsayers.

These lakes change color dramatically and unpredictably from blue or green to red or black, making it one of the natural phenomena to be beheld by many. Moreover, the precariously steep road to get there makes it so much more mysterious and mystifying.

  i loved everything about my surf week in lombok! the instructors were super friendly and cheerful, making you feel immediately at home, and they were helpful and patient in teaching the basics and in correcting the mistakes, always with a smile. everything went smoothly, from the arrival to the hotel to the daily transfers to the beach. i surfed only 6 days and i fell in love with it, and i’m sure it’s in great part thanks to them. i can’t wait to be back, and i miss everything about it already.

  Dit is een hele fijne surfschool voor alle niveaus. Hele leuke instructeurs die goed weten wat ze doen. Senggigi is de mooiste plek waar ik heb gesurfd. Ik kreeg ook nog beeldmateriaal van de video analyse toegestuurd. Ik kom graag nog eens terug!

  I did 4 days of surfing with them mainly at Klui beach. I’ve done some surfing but still am very much a beginner. I have taken quite a few surfing lessons in many places mostly in the US and LATAM. A bit in Bali.

This school is up there with my top favorites. Wayan and his team (Bagoes the camera and Bayu another instructor) are knowledgeable, seasoned instructors that will give you valuable feedback and tips. They’re also very nice people to spend time with. They provide wetsuits and reef shoes which I find helpful for the rocky bottom and very sunny weather. The videos taken of you surfing were also very useful to give you insight for how you did. Klui / Senggigi in April were quite flat but with some decent, mellow waves on a good day, perfect for real beginners. I think for beginners-intermediates you need to check with them when is a good time for bigger waves. Price is higher than your average beach surf shops in Indo but you’ll get what you pay for.

  This is my second time returning to this place. The last time I visited was a year ago, and my surfing skills were quite rusty. Fortunately, the instructors were very patient and helpful in correcting my mistakes, and I was back riding the waves in no time. They also take pictures and videos of you surfing that you get to keep.

I will definitely return again and would highly recommend Nayaka to anyone who wants to learn how to surf, or an intermediate surfer who wants to take their surfing skills to the next level!

  My girlfriend and I booked a semi-private surfing course for beginners and it was an amazing experience and so much fun.

  Das Surfcamp hat richtig viel Spaß gemacht und war auch lehrreich. Die Surflehrer waren alle nett und das Equipment relativ neu. Die Unterkunft war gut, lediglich das Frühstück war nicht ganz so toll. Der Service war aber sehr zuvorkommend. Nur etwas Obst wäre noch toll gewesen.
