Combok Packages - Surfing, Trekking and Komodo Adventure

To ensure you have a wonderful and safe experience, we would like to highlight a few unique aspects of traveling in Labuan Bajo. Please note that maritime tour schedules and ocean conditions are dynamic and subject to change. Below, we outline how we manage these factors to prioritize your safety and comfort.

1. Itinerary Modifications and National Park Capacity Restrictions

  • Schedule Variations: In the event of adverse weather or unfavorable maritime conditions, itineraries may be modified to prioritize guest safety. To ensure the security of all participants, compliance with these operational adjustments is mandatory.
  • Alternative Destinations: To comply with environmental regulations, Komodo National Park enforces strict daily visitor caps. If Padar Island reaches its government-mandated limit on your tour date, Kenawa Island will be seamlessly substituted into the routing.
  • Advance Reservations: Due to exceptionally high demand and strictly limited daily permits, early booking is essential to guarantee your admission into the national park.

2. Boat Design and Accommodation Standards

  • Traditional Marine Architecture: Our contracted vessels are handcrafted from timber by regional shipbuilders, utilizing classic, time-tested Indonesian marine designs.
  • Standard Amenities: Onboard facilities are basic, clean, and utility-focused, aligned with standard regional configurations for long-distance island transit.
  • Expectation Management: Passengers are advised that these itineraries prioritize an authentic, rustic expedition over luxury cruise services. We kindly ask that you evaluate your personal comfort requirements before finalizing your booking.
  • Cabin Design: Cabins on board are designed with classic maritime efficiency, maximizing the boats layout to provide functional sleeping quarters and compact bathroom facilities. We kindly advise guests to expect cozy, intimate cabin dimensions, which may be situated adjacent to the shared or private facilities.

4. Boat Operations and Noise Notice

  • Overnight Electricity: The vessel’s generator operates continuously overnight to supply essential power for cabin lighting, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
  • Acoustic Characteristics: Traditional wooden vessels do not feature complete sound insulation. As a result, engine and generator noise will be audible from inside the cabins, particularly during quiet evening hours.
  • Standard Maritime Conditions: Please be assured that this is entirely normal and standard for all authentic live aboard operations navigating the Komodo region.
  • Comfort Recommendation: To ensure a restful night’s sleep, we highly recommend bringing high-quality earplugs or using noise-canceling headphones with soft music.

4. Mechanical Issues & Boat Replacement

In marine tourism, passenger safety and boat reliability are our highest priorities. While we enforce strict preventative maintenance standards with all our boat partners, the dynamic nature of sea conditions can occasionally cause unexpected mechanical wear.

To ensure your peace of mind, our operators are fully prepared for any scenario. Below are the standard protocols and solutions in place should a boat encounter an unexpected mechanical issue during your journey.

  • Preventative Maintenance: To safeguard your security and comfort, all partner vessels undergo rigorous, routine maintenance. However, due to the nature of maritime travel, unforeseen technical issues can occasionally occur.
  • Mid-Trip Operational Failures: In the rare event of a mechanical or engine failure during your excursion, we will promptly secure a replacement vessel to ensure your itinerary continues with minimal disruption.
  • Pre-Departure Technical Adjustments: If a mechanical issue is identified prior to departure (e.g., the day before the trip), our team will contact you immediately to present alternative vessel options that accommodate your schedule.
  • Financial Adjustments & Boats Differentials: Replacement boats may vary in layout, amenities, and market pricing. Consequently, the final booking cost will be adjusted (either increased or decreased) based on the specific replacement boat selected. Should you choose to decline the available alternatives, your deposit will be refunded in full.
  • Collaborative Resolution: Your comfort and safety remain our absolute priorities. All alternative arrangements will be made in close consultation with you to guarantee a seamless operational transition.

5. Force Majeure & Itinerary Changes

  • Weather & Safety Regulations: The ship’s captain retains absolute authority to alter itineraries, omit specific destinations (including but not limited to Padar, Komodo, Pink Beach, Manta Point, or Moyo Island), or delay departure times. These adjustments may be implemented without prior notice due to adverse sea conditions, inclement weather, or mandatory directives from the Indonesian Coast Guard (Syahbandar).
  • Operator-Initiated Cancellations: If a trip is cancelled entirely by the operator prior to departure due to severe force majeure events or total mechanical failure, clients will be eligible for a 100% refund of their deposit or a complimentary reschedule. Please be advised that the operator carries no liability for secondary or consequential expenses, such as non-refundable flights, hotel accommodations, or travel insurance fees.

6. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Cancellation by the Guest:
    • More than 9 days prior to departure: The initial deposit is 100% forfeited; however, any additional balance payments made toward the trip will be fully refunded.
    • 5 to 7 days prior to departure: A cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total trip price will be applied, and this amount remains strictly non-refundable.
    • 4 days or less prior to departure (including No-Shows): 100% of the total trip price is completely non-refundable, and no credits will be issued.
  • Rescheduling Adjustments: Date changes are permitted up to 14 days before your scheduled departure date. All rescheduling requests remain subject to boat availability and will incur a nominal administrative processing fee.

7. Refund Eligibility & Criteria

Refunds are evaluated strictly on a case-by-case basis. To be considered, all operational complaints must be reported immediately to our team while the tour is active. Nayaka will not entertain or review refund requests submitted after the trip has concluded.

A guest may be eligible for a full or partial refund exclusively under the following circumstances:

  • Timely Cancellation: The booking is cancelled by the guest prior to the commencement of the standard cancellation penalty window.
  • Unresolved In-Tour Issues: A verified operational issue was formally reported to both the onboard crew and our customer support team during the trip but remained completely unaddressed.
  • Mutual Onboard Agreements: A refund may be authorized only if a formal, documented agreement was reached between the vessel management and the guest while onboard.
  • Service Downgrade: The guest is placed in a lower boat class or cabin category than the specific tier they originally booked and paid for.
  • Unmitigated Mechanical Failure: The vessel experiences an operational breakdown or structural damage, and no alternative vessel or transportation is provided to complete the scheduled itinerary.

8. Claims and Dispute Resolution Policy

  • Post-Trip Verification & Audits: All refund requests are subject to a formal internal investigation, which includes auditing vessel logs and interviewing the onboard crew regarding the reported incidents. Valid claims—provided they were initially flagged during the tour—will be thoroughly reviewed and resolved post-trip in accordance with our established booking terms.
  • Zero-Tolerance for Fraudulent Claims: Nayaka maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding fraudulent, exaggerated, or fabricated complaints. Operating under the legal protections and jurisdiction of the Republic of Indonesia, the company will immediately dismiss any claims found to be maliciously fabricated. Furthermore, Nayaka reserves the express right to initiate legal proceedings to protect its brand reputation and assets.

9. Mandatory Insurance & Liability

  • Travel Insurance Requirement: Guests are strictly required to secure comprehensive personal travel insurance prior to boarding. This insurance must explicitly cover emergency medical evacuation, trip cancellations, and adventure sports, including snorkeling and scuba diving.
  • Liability Release: Nayaka assumes no responsibility or financial liability for personal injuries, medical emergencies, or the loss, theft, or damage of personal property (including but not limited to cameras, mobile phones, drones, or luggage) during the tour.

10. Service Disclaimer & Agency Status

  • Our Operational Role: Nayaka functions as a fully licensed travel agent specializing in coordinating premier Komodo excursions with vetted, independent local boat operators based in Labuan Bajo and Lombok Island.
  • Boat Operational Liability: The technical operation, maritime navigation, safety equipment compliance, and onboard hospitality services are the exclusive legal and operational responsibility of the designated boat operator.
  • Agency Status Limitation: Nayaka acts strictly as a booking facilitator and intermediary coordinator. We do not directly own, lease, or operate the physical vessels utilized for these tours.
