Beginner Surf Lessons for Kids (Ages 4–12)

Looking for the best beginner surf lessons for kids? We offer private, two-hour surfing classes designed specifically for children under 12 years old.

Safety is our top priority. Because large surfboards can be heavy and hard for children to handle, we only provide one-on-one surf coaching. Your child will get the dedicated attention they need to stay safe and have fun.

During these private kids surf lessons, a dedicated instructor stays by your child’s side the entire time. The coach will manage the surfboard, offer constant encouragement, and guide them through every wave. Join our families surf camp package for more improve.

What to Expect in Our Kids Surf Class

Here is what your child will experience during their private surf lesson:

  • Safety first: We help handle the heavy surfboard in the water.

  • Skill building: Your child will learn basic paddling, balancing, and standing up.

For children older than 12 years, the private and semi-private Beginner Lessons are available
Private Surf lesson for kids

In these classes the kids learn:

  • Safety measures, for example:
    • How do you fall down from the board safely?
    • What is the best way to escape waves you don’t want or cannot catch?
    • How and where do you safely enter and exit the water?
  • Basic board skills, for example:
    • How to position your body while paddling and how to paddle efficiently?
    • How to position yourself in the waves so you can catch the waves?
    • What is the best body positioning while riding the waves?
  • How to stand up and surf the waves, while being assisted by our professional instructors in the first lesson.

  • Wet suite/shirt
  • Booties/water shoes
  • Surf board rental
